In the acknowledgements, tribute is given to both clients and staff who have contributed to the body of knowledge of this booklet.

It is a comprehensive booklet, which covers the process of addiction.

The important defense mechanisms are discussed. The roles of the family as well practical things to do are dealt with.

Three chapters cover the classification of drugs and their effects and are particularly good as they highlight the 'new' drugs as well as pictures. The signs and symptoms are given in a clear way.

The way forward in terms of recovery, as well as various forms of treatment is outlined.

The various aspects of drugs testing are covered. Finally Where to get help.
As the booklet is published by CTDCC this list covers only their clinics and self help groups.

This is a worthwhile booklet to add to your collection of information.
