about evidence-based medicine

To make well-informed decisions about health care clinicians, policy makers, funders and patients need access to reliable evidence about the effects of health care interventions. Unfortunately, people are often not aware of the evidence that is available, the evidence is disorganised and inaccessible, or appropriate evidence does not exist. Evidence-based health care is the conscientious, explicit and judicious use of current best evidence in making health care decisions.

Read more about The Cochrane Collaboration promotes evidence-based health care by identifying, appraising, summarising and disseminating the most reliable evidence about the effects of health care.
