  The ISHS is in the process of developing a Home Visitation Programme (HVP)  based on best practices for injury prevention HVPs developed elsewhere. A  pilot of this child injury prevention programme is being costed by means of  an adjusted intervention costing-matrix developed by the National Injury Costing  Project. During this costing workshop on the 2nd and 3rd of April this year,  the Swedish Manual for Cost Calculations and Cost-Effectiveness in Safe Community Practice was discussed, with an adaptation of its components to the South  African context under way. A literature study on the cost calculation of community interventions is under way at present.
